Using Plant Care XR

Subject to these terms and any applicable store terms, Overlay LLC grants you a limited, non-exclusive license to install and use Plant Care XR on supported devices you are authorized to use.

You must use the app lawfully and follow the safety and age requirements of your headset and app store. Do not use it to infringe another person's rights, distribute malicious code, circumvent security protections, or interfere with other users or services. Restrictions do not limit activities that applicable law expressly permits.

Plant-care information and reminders

The catalog and plant guides provide general information, not a guarantee that a plant is correctly identified or that a particular care routine will suit it. A plant's needs depend on its condition, environment, season, growing medium, and other factors. Check the actual plant and its growing conditions before acting on a reminder.

Catalog guidance does not automatically set a watering frequency. You choose the reminder schedules and are responsible for adjusting them as needed. A due reminder is not a measurement of soil moisture or proof that a plant needs water or fertilizer. Plant Care XR does not monitor plant health or provide automatic photo identification.

Do not rely on the catalog to determine whether a plant is edible, medicinal, or safe for people or pets. Follow product instructions and appropriate safety precautions when using fertilizers, tools, or other plant-care products.

Spatial reminders and physical safety

Plant Care XR is an organizational and reference aid, not a safety-critical monitoring or notification system. You remain responsible for deciding what needs doing, checking schedules, and carrying out plant care safely.

Spatial placement depends on your device, tracking conditions, and surroundings. A marker may be unavailable, misplaced, or need to be placed again. Do not rely on the app for emergency alerts, medical care, or any situation where a missed or inaccurate reminder could cause harm.

Remain aware of your physical surroundings, other people, and obstacles while wearing your headset. Do not use the app while driving, operating machinery, or performing any activity where the headset could create a hazard. Close or remove the headset when necessary to carry out physical work safely.

Your content and local storage

You retain your rights to the plant names, notes, and other content you enter. You are responsible for that content and for having permission to use any information about other people.

The current app saves its plant records locally. Overlay does not currently provide a cloud synchronization or account-based backup service for Plant Care XR. Your operating system or distribution platform may separately back up, synchronize, or restore app data, depending on its services, the app's configuration, and your settings. We do not guarantee the availability, completeness, or successful restoration of those backups.

Clearing app data, uninstalling, losing a device, or certain device changes can result in data loss. Keep a separate record of information you cannot afford to lose. We cannot restore information we do not hold. Restoring saved plant records does not guarantee that spatial markers will be found on a different device or in a different environment; you may need to place them again.

If you hand your headset to someone else, they may be able to view or change your plants, notes, and reminders. You are responsible for controlling access to your device.

Purchases and third-party services

The app's price and supported devices are shown in the store where it is offered. The current release has no subscriptions or in-app purchases. The store handles payment and downloads. Refund requests can be made through the store's applicable process; contact us if you need help. Nothing in these terms limits a refund or other remedy available under applicable law.

Your use of a headset, operating system, or store is also subject to that provider's terms. Catalog photos are delivered over the internet and may be unavailable without a connection or during a service interruption. Your network provider's charges may apply.

Website addresses in the app's catalog credits are provided as plain-text attribution references, not clickable links. They do not mean that we control or endorse those websites. If you independently choose to use an external AI assistant or identification service, its terms apply separately.

App, catalog, and image licenses

Plant Care XR, its software, branding, and original design are owned by Overlay LLC or its licensors. These terms do not transfer ownership of the app to you.

Catalog photographs, plant-name data, and other third-party materials may be provided under separate licenses or be in the public domain. Applicable credits, source addresses, and license information are available through the app's catalog credits. Third-party and open-source components remain subject to their respective licenses; nothing in these terms limits rights those licenses grant you.

Updates and availability

We may update the app or catalog to improve information, address issues, or support platform changes. Features and compatibility may change, subject to applicable law and your purchase rights. We do not guarantee that every device or operating-system version will remain supported indefinitely; this does not limit any obligation to provide updates or remedies required by law.

Future optional features may have additional terms or privacy disclosures. Any material changes to these terms will be communicated as required by applicable law. Your statutory rights are not affected.

Warranties and liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the app and website are provided "as is" and "as available," without additional warranties that they will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every purpose. Plant-care information cannot guarantee a particular result.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Overlay LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the app, including lost profits or loss of data. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, or removes mandatory consumer guarantees or remedies. The guidance and safety sections above do not remove those rights.

General terms

If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. These terms apply specifically to Plant Care XR; separate Overlay products and services may have their own terms. Mandatory protections in your jurisdiction continue to apply.
